Hi, if anyone has eventually attended a Dutch University as an international (EU included) student (including PhDs) or as an early-career researcher, and has experienced similar or other kinds of serious abuses and academic malpractice, please reach out to me (comment, like, react to this reply, message me on here, whatever works). I sadly relate to a lot of what Zhao shared, although my case is slightly different and involves another prestigious University in the country.
I have a feeling that we are not isolated outliers, as much as they would like us to believe. I would relish the opportunity to discuss with others who can relate to this kind of story, with the intention of creating a space and community where we can, if we want, share our experiences, support one another and, to those who want, hold them accountable.
One of the researcher daily missions is to make a voice for those situations and help as much as we can to address them. Please feel free to share your experience with us and we will share it with our readers. Discussions are important and voices must be heard!
